Work in Millstadt, IL in a climate controlled facility.
Work Schedule: Tuesday– Friday 10hr days or Monday – Friday 8hr days

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of shipping and delivery for our manufacturing facility, specifically with regards to customer satisfaction. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for staying on top of the production schedule for various departments and coordinating with those departments to ensure shipments remain on track for the designated ship date. The Logistics Coordinator processes all daily orders generating all necessary documentation including Bills of Lading. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for responding immediately to our Customer Service Department and Customer’s questions, complaints and notifications regarding any delays in the delivery schedule. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for accurate freight quotes and negotiating freight rates to ensure the best possible rates and exceptional delivery service times, The Logistics Coordinator will utilize their experience in logistics management and inventory maintenance to communicate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare accurate bills of lading by following all customer specific shipping request, including selecting the appropriate freight method OEM instructions
  • Arrange deliveries with customers for completed product, shipping early whenever possible
  • Communicate with truck lines to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments
  • Review purchase orders and shipment documents prior to releasing them from our facility
  • Negotiate freight rates to ensure the best possible rates and exceptional delivery service times, obtain quotes when required
  • Track and analyze miss shipments to ensure they don’t occur again
  • Respond to customer service and customer inquiries then follow up with corrected information, freight quotes and customer approvals
  • Notify Senior Management when carrier issues arise, especially once tracking information indicates negative impacts on shipments
  • Evaluate current processes for the shipping departments which include evaluating shipping methods by product, boxing and packaging procedures, etc. Then develop recommend and implement process improvements
  • File claims for shipment damages and/or lost shipments
  • Informs customer service of any exceptions or delays with shipments to ensure customer service is aware of the situation(s) so they can notify the customers immediately
  • Ensure quality of all services and processes within the facility
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Inventory maintenance experience a plus
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
