Master Planner

The Master Planner will coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department or facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Developing a production schedule for assigned products, providing sufficient lead time to procure raw materials and manufacturing components to meet production forecast requirements.
  • Establishing daily production schedules to determine in which sequence products and components will be manufactured.
  • Ensuring production capacities are fully scheduled and planned.
  • Overseeing the process for schedule changes and ensuring root causes for volatility are resolved.
  • Working closely with other functional areas to drive and own KPI’s such as on-time delivery, past-due backlog, and lead time.
  • Rescheduling the shop floor as required to meet lead time requirements.
  • Providing customer service with status and delivery information; identifying and removing obstacles that will hinder schedule attainment & performance.
  • Leveling load factor (capacity), ensuring achievement of customer requirements while maximizing efficiency and minimizing inventory.
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager to determine that the needs and constraints of the manufacturing shop floor, technicians and schedules work accordingly.
  • Utilizing solution-based tactics/strategies to meet monthly targets.
  • Following the progress of jobs from start to finish and taking necessary action with production control (OT, shifts, outsourcing) to maintain schedule periods.
  • Keeping schedule updated, as well as shop/machine loading plans, in order to predict bottlenecks or slack periods.
  • Ensuring accuracy of information, reconciling supply and demand, and validating scheduling requirements.
  • Adhering to all safety rules and policies as determined by the organization.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have excellent communication skills to be able to pass the necessary information to both customers and employees.

  • Must possess at least a basic knowledge of supply chain activities.
  • Must have good time management ability to be able to meet up with orders and schedules.
  • Must be able to make use of different data base programs especially Microsoft Excel
  • Must have a degree in business administration or any other field that has to do with supply-chain.
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar position
  • Must possess the required certification needed in fields like supply chain, project management, or business management.
