Manufacturing Polisher
*4-day work week* Monday – Thursday, Fridays off!
Power tool experience is a plus, however training will be provided for the right candidate(s).
The Metal Polisher/Grinder is a vital component of our manufacturing process. They are responsible for grinding and polishing stainless steel products, matching work orders to the product, completing required documentation for the product, and inspecting the finished product to ensure products meet quality standards.
Work in Millstadt, IL in a climate controlled facility!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate hand tools for grinding and polishing; using specific methods for specific assemblies assigned.
- Polish metal components to ensure welds are smooth and ready for the painting process.
- Lifts and moves parts/product on and off work area then stages product in the storage area.
- Use various hand tools and power tools.
- Complete required quality control inspections which may include visual parts inspections to ensure quality standards are not compromised,
- Clock in and out of work orders.
- Match work orders to components and complete any required documentation
- Ensure quality throughout the production process while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Ability to use hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Ability to use a grinder and polisher.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand basic shop drawings, specifications, and parts lists.
- Must pass Skills Assessment for Power Tools.
PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Continuously standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and twisting in the normal course of work.
- Frequently lifting, handling, and maneuvering 85 lbs.
- Frequently using hands. Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
- Hand-eye coordination in the normal course of work using hand/power tools.
