SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor oversees the various zones to ensure processes and procedures are being followed, enforces safety policies, monitors quality and efficiency for work zone performance, coaches team members, resolves issues within the workplace and pro-actively develops strategies and goals to improve department and workflow processes, serves as a link between team members and management.

As the Production Supervisor, you will be the contact point for your team members and other zones. You must be proactive to ensure smooth team operations, especially regarding the production needs, quality, and training for your zones. The Production Supervisor is held accountable for utilizing team members and equipment safely and efficiently. This will require effective collaboration and communication with all zones that may impart your zones productivity.

The Supervisor is expected to be well-versed in processes and will be results focused and driven. Their goal is to ensure that operations are conducted productively to ensure sustainable growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervises staff to produce manufactured products; organizes and monitors workflow.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Interviews, selects, onboards, trains, and mentor employees.
  • Maintains workflow by implementing and monitoring processes.
  • Implements cost reductions.
  • Evaluates new equipment and techniques.
  • Facilitates corrections to process and product nonconformances while initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing work orders for maintenance repairs.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, and answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, and implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of equipment, safety practices, and resources and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • With assistance from HR, resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action..
