TIG Welder/Fabricator

*This position operates on a 4-day / 10 hour shift (Monday – Thursday). Fridays off!

A TIG welder is responsible for welding primarily stainless-steel components to meet product specifications. TIG welders must be able to match work orders to components, complete required quality inspections, and process documentation. Must be able to operate effectively in a team atmosphere, be self-motivated, and be goal-oriented. The position is a physically demanding job that requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and properly wear and use safety gear. TIG welders are part of the production process for manufacturing metal products. A full-time position with the option of overtime.

Work in Millstadt, IL in a climate controlled facility.

SKILLED TIG welders should have experience with the following:

  • TIG on stainless steel experience. 16-18 guage
  • 3D CAD blueprint reading experience
  • Must be able to convert decimals to fractions
  • Weld with filler rod 308L 16″-3/32″

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow blueprints, arrange metal pieces, and fix them into position before TIG welding.
  • Welding positions could consist of flat, horizontal, and vertical on stainless steel and occasionally aluminum.
  • Safely set up and operate welding machines and other shop equipment.
  • Match work orders to components.
  • Ensure quality throughout the production process by completing continuous quality inspections.
  • Process all required documentation.
  • Weld, grind and polish all metals according to component specifications.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Continuously standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and twisting in the ordinary course of work.
  • Frequently lifting, handling, and maneuvering 85 lbs.
  • Frequently using hands. Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands
  • Hand-eye coordination in the ordinary course of work using hand/power tools.

Experience:

  • TIG welding: 1 year (Preferred)
