Purchaser

Under general direction, the Purchasing Agent plans, organizes, coordinates the purchasing functions and activities for the facility. Serves as a resource between various personnel and departments for purchasing material and supplies for production. Also serves as a liaison between the company’s commodity vendors and their sales representatives.

  • Plan, organize, develop, and implement procedures and guidelines relative to the purchasing of goods, supplies, material, equipment.
  • Review, monitor, and evaluates requisitions for supplies, materials, equipment, and services to ensure that purchasing specification requirements and standards are achievable.
  • Assist, counsel, and advises various personnel/departments regarding the purchasing process related to buying standards, commodity supply sources and purchasing procurement time frames.
  • Obtain quotations and data pertaining to the procurement of commodities and services needed to supply the production requirements and enable products to be assembled and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Review and analyze quotations and data; recommends the selection of vendor(s) based on cost effectiveness and purchasing activities to ensure prompt delivery and availability of commodities required.
  • Address and resolve correction of vendor shortages and damage.
  • Review and evaluate inventory control records to ensure the appropriate inventory is readily available. Also projects inventory replacement and stock levels for future production needs and new product lines.
  • Establish, and maintain contact information files and records, vendor files, and a supply and commodity requisition listing.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
