Purchasing/Material Manager

• Developing an organization’s procurement rules and regulations
• Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
• Supervise, evaluate, and coach staff members
• Hiring and training of new staff
• Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
• Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
• Negotiating contracts for the organization and working out agreements with suppliers for product delivery and pricing
• Evaluating and monitoring contracts to ensure suppliers and vendors are complying with terms and conditions
• Designing and implementing an inventory tracking system for optimized inventory control procedures
• Interfaces with master schedulers on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
• Meeting with vendors and staff to discuss unacceptable and defective products and establish corrective action
• Maintaining and reviewing records of inventories, product performance, deliveries, costs, and items purchased
• Assist in the examination of the levels of raw materials and supplies to determine shortages
• Ensure the facility maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
• Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
